Join us for the 13th annual One Earth Film Festival led by none other than the incredible Ana Garcia Doyle! This evening, hosted at Kehrein Center for the Arts and facilitated by the theater’s director, Reesheda Graham Washington, will illuminate the presence of women of color as advocates for the earth and both its beauties and challenges. Together we will view 2 films. “A Good Neighbor” is a feature-length documentary about a Latina single mother’s fight against racism and climate change as she campaigns for city council in one of the nation’s most polluted zip codes. Farhoud Meybodi’s film, “Earthbound,” a documentary that reveals a catastrophic plastic waste crisis in Nairobi, and the ways that Nzambi Matee risks everything to pioneer technology that transforms plastic waste into sustainable paving bricks in her hometown.
