ABOUT
Africa Out West celebrates Chicago's legacy of West African and African diasporic culture with Farafina Kan and Bala Fanga. Presented by Old Town School of Folk Music and Music Moves Chicago's Future Folk Festival.
Farafina Kan is one of the premier West African performance ensembles in the United States and Bala Fanga is a New York city-based collective of West African musicians specializing in Balafon music from Mali and Guinea. Also joining this dynamic event is Chicago's Youth Djembe Orchestra Azania Drum and DJ Bonsu.
